An exciting upcoming event Steele McTurk has planned is the annual DJCAD Degree Show. As it is Steele’s final year studying here his work will feature in the 2026 degree show. Dates for this are yet to be confirmed but it is an event to look forward to, getting the chance to see such a wide variety of works by talented artists working over various different mediums. Past
“The Power of Paint” was Steele’s very first solo exhibition held back in 2023 in the Harbour Arts Centre, Irvine. This exhibition focused around the effects of criticism within the arts on mental health. Steele looked at how beneficial criticism is to grow but also how toxic and damaging it can sometimes become, therefore he emphasized the importance of creating for yourself. Whilst Steele focused his ideas around the arts, more particularly painting, he wanted people to take these thoughts to any aspect of their own lives where they fit.
