about

Steele McTurk is an Ayrshire based artist working primarily with paints, both acrylic and oils.

The goal being to create art that is meaningful and one of a kind. His work takes inspiration from many parts of life. Lots of Steele’s paintings feature bright colourful paint used in his own style that sits somewhere inbetween realism and impressionistic.

Steele is currently studying at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design on the Fine Art course. His work in uni focuses a lot on challenging the idea of the ‘male gaze’ especially within marketing.

Career

During his career so far as an artist, Steele has featured in many exhibitions as part of a group with other fellow artists, as well as having his very own solo exhibition ‘The Power of Paint’ in 2023. His solo exhibition came in hand whilst Steele was completing a Scottish Baccalaureate in the arts, researching mental health and the links that come being involved in the arts.

  • Yes! As a freelance artist, I love collaborating with clients to transform concepts into compelling visuals. Every commission is an opportunity to create something that resonates deeply and feels entirely your own.

  • Unfortunately as of yet I do not offer prints of my work, although it is something I am looking into to start selling soon!
